This week’s prompt is: “The pink glove lay on the ground, almost covered. . .” A bunch of writers each do a 100 word story based on the weekly prompt. Here is mine:

AbbyJane scrambled through the debris. The smoke was starting to thicken and she ducked lower to avoid the worst of it.

I can’t stay. But I can’t leave yet. “I have to find it.”

She dug through the rubble and gasped, immediately coughing from the fumes.

The pink glove lay on the ground, almost covered by the rubble. She snatched it up and quickly reached into the empty fingers.

The ancient ring was still in there. Relief washed over her. She scrambled out of the room with her family’s heirloom still in her possession.

“I’m never taking it out again.”

This shows how frantic she is nicely. It does make me wonder what caused the fire though. Someone wanting the heirloom or the heirloom itself. Hmm.

I love it! So much awesome imagery!
