Our prompt for this week’s 100 word story was: “The truth about love is. . .”

 

WonHundred Wednesday 5 21

 

 

McKenzie shook the magic eight ball. “Come on, the truth about love is…” She sighed in disbelief. “Ask again later? What kind of answer is that?”

Steven, her best friend of twelve years, snorted. “That thing isn’t going to tell you.”

“Oh yeah? And what do you know?”

Steven stepped up close to her. “I know the answer.” He tucked her hair behind her ear and left his hand there, his thumb lightly brushing across her cheek. Her breath caught, heart suddenly pounding. “The truth about love is, it’s patient.” He moved slowly, his lips softly brushing hers. “Very patient.”
